Best of 2009 15-17th

December 15 Best packaging.  Victoria's secret negligee on Valentine's day, the two shades of shimmery pink made me go "ooh" and the gift inside made me say "ah" lol

December 16 Tea of the year. Earl grey was my tea of the year.  Relaxing, calming and smooth, can't go wrong with English Earl Grey tea.

December 17 Word or phrase.  "2009 was interesting and enlightening."  "Kill yourself" "Kick rocks"  well those technically I have been saying for a couple of years, but hey...they still work.  "are you serious?" was one that I picked up somewhere too...

Best of 2009

I tried to go and do my best of 2009 list, but the website Gwen Bell is down for some reason, it cannot be found so I am not sure what is going on. So I am going to wing it for the last few days and just do these. update: Gwen Bell is back up but I am going to still have these up for my best of for these days.  Here are her suggestions for the best of for the 14th to the 12th they will be in gray:

December 14 Rush  My biggest rush of the year was when I had to go and pick up Jocelyn at the airport in Richmond, to surprise Leah in Norfolk.  They are besties and I thought it was so cool to have such a fun day full of surprises, made thanksgiving weekend great!

December 14. Best Find.  This years best find, was old friends from Highschool. Priscilla. I hadn't spoken to her in 15 years, we lost touch after high school due to us both moving away and she was the best find of the year-the conversations and text messages we have had have been great, and it's great catching up and speaking again.  I hope to visit her one of these days and not let it be another 15 years before we speak or see eachother again. My other best finds were finding Heather, Maria, and Angela also on Facebook and myspace-Heather I hadn't spoken to in nearly a decade and Angela and Maria hadn't spoken to them in 14 years.  I was tickled to death that they were all doing well and that we are all friends again, thankful for social networking sites where I can find old friends.  I may be seeing Maria over the Christmas break.  I am excited.  Maria is Priscilla's sister.  We had some great times in high school.  Angela and Heather and Priscilla all live in Texas, and Fort Hood is top on our list of places the Army is trying to send us so theres a great chance that that is where we will be...I really am looking forward to it if that is the case.  In the case of Priscilla, we have clicked so well, laughed so much, and talked alot in the three weeks we have talked, and we are making up for lost time, --this to me is how it should be with friends.  I missed that and am thankful to have found her and my other friends.

December 13 What's the best change you made to the place you live? Getting my things unpacked and moving here was the best change, I haven't done much to this place as it was perfect to begin with.  It feels more and more like home and not just a house.

December 13. Best Buy.  This year's best buy was a comfortable pair of no name pajamas from Target.  They are so warm and so comfy and so cute.  I just love Target and I love my pajamas.  They are even fashionable to wear to 7-11 with my thermal top, pouffy coat and comfy boots to dash in and out of the store to get some coffee

December 12 New food. I went to a Chinese restaurant and have had standard chinese food before but I tried thai food at a Chinese restaurant and loved it.

December 12. Best Day.  The best day of this year by far was Joscelyn's birthday.  I enjoyed having it although I had to work that night, it was still the best day as she turned one years old and we had family and friends  to celebrate it with.  I was very happy.

Twas the Month Before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas

When all through our land,

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away

The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,

Not Happy Holiday!

Please, all Christians join together and

Wish everyone you meet

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christ is The Reason' for the Christ-mas Season!

Best of 2009

I saw this at Ex Hot Girl, so I followed the link to this blog challenge and decided to give it a go at the best of for this year.

I will be doing this probably going backwards, starting today and if I miss a day or days...since I don't blog everyday now due to being super busy, I will just tack them into one post.  Also I know that tommorow is six word saturday and I haven't done one in awhile, so I better make sure I do one then.  #best09 # 1-11

December 11 The best place.  the best place for me this year was Scobey Montana...it was so peaceful, and quiet, and there was lots and lots of family around.  Can't wait to move there.

December 10 Album of the year.  My best album of the year hands down was Ludacris' theatre of the mind. Loved it.  Maybe not your taste, but I like Ludacris and he gets me through this crazy traffic here in DC, and listened to it so much its now background music.  I had other favorite songs this year, but to me that was my album of the year.

December 9 Challenge.  Hands down my best challenge this year was working as a Project manager.  I learned and grew alot.  Made me a stronger person, and opened up new doors.

December 8 Moment of peace.  My morning coffee and blog time that I discovered later in the year was a great moment of peace for me.  I could escape to the world of the internet and just let my thoughts just dissapate. I know that some of you are like how is that possible? Well, it is for me, I am a Gemini and my thoughts are always non-stop going, going, going.  To have them shut down or slow down to one thought, that was my moment of peace.  Thank you blog friends, for your wonderful blogs and God bless Folgers.

December 7 Blog find of the year.  Theres so many of you out there...but here goes. Every blog I subscribe to, I love and they have made me smile and laugh and cry and cry out.  Otherwise I would not read them. Here are some off the top of my head.  My favorite hot girl (and self proclaimed lunatic) her words, not mine :),  she is an amazing photographer as well and you should check her out on Facebook!  I got to see how a gal could run in stilettos, and I learned to take a step back and watch airplanes and witnessed mayhem and laughed at crazy shenanigans!  This year (army) wife went pink, and proved she was more than just an army wife.  I also got to glimpse into the past and relish in having a young blog friend in her twenties, and got to see life in la la land.  I realized that we all have the tendencies to sometimes wander but are not lost, are undomestic at times, but no matter what, we are fabulous, and we forever change.  I also found someone who shared my interests in crafts, she's better at it, but still I love anything scrapbooky and papercrafty!   I also got to see a breath of fresh air, and get to read about political stuffs from this blog...made me open my eyes to some things.   If it was not for SITS I probably would have no readers and may not have "met" your blogs so I want to give a shout to them as well. I made some rounds this morning. These blogs were my finds of the year.  If I missed any of you, know that I did not do it intentionally, I love all the blogs I read. You women are all amazing!

December 6 Workshop or conference. I didn't attend any this year. I know. Lame.
Does reading your blogs and comments count to learn towards reflection and self-motivation or can be described as beneficial?  I think yes.

December 5 Night out.  My best night out this year cannot be narrowed down to one night.   If I was in Savannah I probably would have had tons of nights out... this year, I went to the club maybe 3 times this year, and most of the other times we went out it was to movies or a concert.  I saw Brittany Spears in April with Roxy, that was fun...and we had the charity benefit a few weeks ago, that was fun, I went out on Halloween with my girlfriend from Maryland, and I had a few great times down in Georgia in Savannah with my besties and went out with my family in Glasgow Montana, and there were movie nights with hubby and kids, so I have to say all of those nights we did stuff were the best for the year.  I can't pinpoint one.  I think I just enjoy myself and have a good time in the moment.  The year is not over yet, I may have to revisit this one. I have a trip to Savannah next week...and thats me and my sisters' stomping grounds.

December 4 Book.  Twilight series.  I read those books. They were entertaining and interesting.  Made my mind escape for about two weeks.

December 3 Article. This year did not have one article that blew me away or that I shared with my friends.  My friends and I don't have the same views on anything worldly or political...well maybe one friend.  The rest are into  themselves, makeup and hair husbands/boyfriends/ and their jobs and kids...I don't think I have had a deep conversation with anyone about anything that is exciting to me this year at all that is article or newsworthy.  My blogger friends on the other hand we have similar tastes and interests.

December 2 Restaurant moment.   Hands down a few weeks ago we went to Applebees in Norfolk with my sister, I cannot remember what I ordered but the company was great with Jocelyn there and the kids and we just had a blast  catching up and laughing over great food and great conversation.  It was one of the best restaurant moments of the year.

December 1 Trip.  When I went to see my sister graduate from Highschool.  That was the best trip of the year.  I got to see friends and family and of course the main reason why I went down there was to see my baby sister graduate.  I was so excited and had a great time.  My second best trip of the year was our train ride across country to see family in Montana.

so those are the first 11. Hopefully tommorow I will come and blog early like I did today and get #12 up...New food.

Last two weeks

Ok so i finally changed the layout to the blog. its now festive and Christmas-y.

My sisters surprise at Thanksgiving was me picking up her best friend at Richmond and then picking my sister up with her best friend in tow when we went to Norfolk to get her for her 4 day pass.  She was excited.   Ok so the surprise wasn't a gift, but its a big deal when someone comes to visit around here, as we miss our friends. We had such a great time over Thanksgiving weekend.  Also had friends over for dinner and it was great!  We went sight seeing, we went SHOPPING! played video games until our minds were zombie-fied and  Godfathered, watched Football, ate too much pie and turkey and leftovers, went out to dinner, to the mall to just hang out, watched movies sooverall, we had a great time!  Here are the highlights:

my sister Leah and Jocelyn.
(My Joscelyn is spelled different, here she is...all netted up to block the wind some and in her stroller...

this is at Arlington on the 30th. We went to see the monuments and went to Arlington National Cemetary
this is me  and Joscelyn when we first got to Arlington, and Angelina is in the stroller behind me being pushed by daddy.

Heres a photo of the eternal flame where President Kennedy and his wife and daughter are buried

We also witnessed the changing of the guard

On our way to DC we drove through Mt. Vernon and took some pictures of the fall scenery as 95 north was gridlocked, but it was a nice drive. We didn't find parking so we drove around the monuments in DC and I promised Jocelyn her next trip had to be around a non holiday week. lol. We drove around for four hours trying to find parking. Guess we should have gotten there at butt crack thirty in the morning. Hehe. my bad.

that was the weekend of Thanksgiving.

This past weekend it snowed here in Va on Saturday and my kids made a snowman, sorta...here it is:

The Princess loved it...it melted yesterday though.

Maybe it will snow again before we leave for Georgia on Christmas where they can jump around in snow and play in it more.

Sorry about the late blogs

so far behind on reading blogs and writing them, I have just been busy with my kids. The Peanut has made it her mission in life to terrorize everything.   Her latest act of terror is hiding all the spices in the spice rack....all over the house...I am missing my two key ingredients and will need to go back to the store to purchase more. I think she threw them out. She does do one thing, she does "clean up and pick up trash" maybe she felt I didn't need garlic powder or garlic pepper?"  I will blog again maybe tommorow I hope to give you an update on the surprise for my sister for Thanksgiving, and share the details along with some photos and how we spent thanksgiving weekend.

I will be out of town again on the 18th to go get her and then again we will be going to Georgia on the 20th til the 1st so I won't blog much throughout that time, will be busy but I will try to blog from my cell phone possibly.

I better start logging into blogger first thing so that I can get my blog up tommorow. Gotta run, its bath time and early bedtime for both girls and me, I am exhausted and a little sick too. cough.

hugs
